Hypnosis Techniques – How to Hypnotize Someone for the First Time
Hypnotism has been used for several centuries to gain information on an individual’s past and present lives. This technique was not named until the 1880’s. The person who gave it this name is James Braid, a Scottish neurosurgeon. He was responsible for naming and developing this technique on how to hypnotize someone properly through scientific studies. There are four steps Braid’s his technique on how to hypnotize someone.
The procedure on how to hypnotize someone is called the Four Stage Formula.
The first step is to gain attention of the subject. This simply means to attract the subject’s complete attention.
The second step is to get past the “critical factor”. The critical factor is the reasoning of the conscience mind saying that hypnosis is not possible. A resistance to hypnosis is created when the “critical factor” is a barrier between the subject and their hypnotic state.
This obstacle must be overcome in order to reach the subject on an unconscious level. Once the “critical factor” is overcome, you can make hypnotic suggestions in the form of advice. As long as the critical factor has been overcome, this advice will come through the conscious mind and will take effect.
The third step is to initiate an unconscious response. By initiating an unconscious response, it is a sign that you have successfully lead the subject into a hypnotic state. There are many different kinds of unconscious responses.
One example is an emotional response. They come from an unconscious level and it responds to thoughts that the subject posses. If you are hypnotizing someone in a deep emotional state, take a note of that.
The fourth step is to guide the subject through their unconscious by using suggestions to gain your desired outcome. Once you complete all steps successfully, you would have had a hypnotic conversation with your subject. These are the steps on how to hypnotize someone.
The Hypnotic Techniques
There are several different hypnosis techniques. A few of them are conversational hypnosis, subliminal hypnosis, handshake induction, hypnosis spiral, bright objects and video hypnosis.
Conversational Hypnosis is one of the best techniques to use. This is the type of hypnosis that is used on a person and the person is unaware they are in such a state. It is very effective when the audience trusts the hypnotist. It is very effective for people who are in work fields such as sales.
Subliminal Hypnosis is used for behavior modification and self-hypnosis. It is one of the most effective techniques to improve one’s lifestyle. It is beneficial in advertising, persuasion and self-help situations.
Hypnosis Spiral is the technique that most people think of when they think of hypnotism. This technique causes the audience to go into a trance like state. This state is induced by a moving object that the subject is concentrating on. This is the best technique to use if you want to be quick and effective. The object that is mostly used is a swinging pendulum.
Bright Objects is the technique that uses a moving spiral. The subject is focusing their attention on a shiny, bright, moving spiral. They continue to focus on this until it is difficult to focus and their eyelids become heavy. The hypnotist starts telling the subject to relax. If the subject’s mind is open to suggestion, the subject will comply and the hypnosis session will begin.
Finally the newest form of hypnosis is video hypnosis. This is a great technique to use for self-hypnosis. This was developed with the advancement of the internet. This is when the subject watching a video of a moving object.
